Winter Wonderland
I made Edna take some vacation time,so she and Buffy could enjoy the park.
Her glasses aren't round, but I just pretend that square glasses were her style in her younger days.
I love how this park changes with the seasons.
It gives you a good reason to visit.
Ice skating in this area in the winter, roller skating in the spring, the summer is dedicated to water slides and a kids playground.
The last post showed the haunted house here for Autumn.
I've only been ice skating once in my life.
I think I looked like this:
You look quite stylish in that, Polly.
Cute bear, but what I need is a group of Christmas trees.
I remember having a hard time finding them. I wonder if I even have them anymore.
Really, Jun Xu?
It's your skin to freeze.
Buffy finally found her balance, but I think she's needs something a little more exiting.
She has to try the snowboarding half-pipe.
Edna will just watch from the sideline.
Impressive.
But not yet mastered.
She wasn't bad for her first time on this thing.
Fun in the snow.
Attack!
Nyah!
Counter-attack!
Ok, the cold is finally getting to them, so they'll take a photo for the house and then...
Buffy the Vampire Curer Slayer
Buffy is gifting her new friend, Lisa King, with a very nice wand.
Because I made Lisa a witch.
Buffy needs a dueling partner to advance those witchy skills.
I can't have Lisa dueling with a low grade wand. I was pleased to see her using it.
It certainly adds more variety.
I was getting tired of Love and Luck Charms and Freeze and Flame spells.
And I can just let them have at it.
This is my Plumbot Emporium.
I made it as a business for one of my past sims. Someone will buy and run it in a future save.
Eventually Edna will move into a huge house across the bay.
I think I will have a robot servant this time. Butlers are a bit annoying.
I can turn a plumbot off.
They are so shiny.
This is the Savvy Sellers area.
It makes this business feel a little like OFB, but only a little.
I wonder if this Jet Pack could be useful to her.
She hasn't had time to develop a Ninja Vanish potion. This little gem could be useful for getting away from the psychic police.
Vampire slayers with a curfew kinda bites.
Buffy doesn't have time for pets, but maybe she could handle this.
She moves on to the consignment store next.
She checks in to see if the store has anything unique, interesting, and useful.
Well, she is Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
What? Upset at a little vampire gnome abuse?
The vampires already have you two enthralled?
Buffy has to clean up this town before it's too late.
I forgot that I put a spell book in here.
She could use it to summon vampires here instead of searching around Bridgeport.
Nah.
She's already sunk time in learning spells.
I'll do that as a last resort.
We'll just go where they are supposed to hang out.
Frustrating.
No vampires.
But Edna Mode does get in a few good makeovers.
I really like the way Matty Crewe turned out.
She gets lucky at Wayland's Haunt.
Morrigan Hemlock, her old nemesis.
Well, not really old. Buffy is just a teen, so she couldn't have been her nemesis for very long.
Very impressive!
Very impressive indeed, Morrigan.
But Buffy doesn't scare easily.
We have a new spell for you.
How about some sunlight?
Well, I expected a more dramatic reaction to that charm.
But she is taking off.
It must have weakened her in some way.
Hey!
Buffy isn't finished with you!
There is Morrigan's car, but she didn't see Morrigan. Wogan Hemlock was outside, however.
He's a bit toasty from a prior run-in with Buffy after she learned the Flame spell.
How about some sunlight for you?
Again, not much visible effect.
But she does have another curse in mind for him.
Thirst!
Holy... !!!
Wha... ???
I was so shocked, I didn't get a picture!
He disintegrated into ashes.
Buffy slew a vampire.
So Sims can kill other sims directly.
You just have to be a witch with elixir skills and Sunlight and Thirst curses.
Turn a sim into a vampire and then use your wand on them.
I do have NRaas mods though. It could be some mod voodoo magic going on.
I do feel like the Simmer Noob. I did not know you could do this. I thought I would have to spend hours weakening them and starving them to death or something.
I was about to send Buffy after Morrigan, but...
Wow, I forgot about Belisama Hemlock.
The Hemlocks have a child.
There is no way I can have Buffy slay Morrigan Hemlock now.
Even if she is evil.
She does have a cure available.
Well, your husband is gone,
but on the bright side, you're still alive and free of the vampire curse.
She's not happy at all.
And I am sure Belisama is going to grow up with outright hatred for Buffy.
That kid is an evil spawn to begin with.
Oh this is so gonna be fuel for another scenario to play out.
I take over Belisama and have her raise a vampire army. And then an older Buffy will train a crew of teen vampire hunters to restore the city again. It's Buffy: The Sequel.
But that's later.
There are more vampires out there.
Beau Merrick
I could have sworn I saw Beau Merrick run in here for work one night.
Buffy jet packed in trying to head him off to confirm that he worked here.
Missed him, or he doesn't even work here.
She practiced her magic, determined to wait him out, but even if the does, she probably can't stop him from returning home.
So we tracked down where he lives by other means.
Apparently Buffy does not have a reputation for being a deadly threat to vampires.
Beau invites her up.
He sleeps in this little cubby hole?
She flamed him weeks ago.
He still hasn't taken a shower.
"You!"
They had to go all the way back down to the lobby to interact.
Let's not drag this out.
Sunlight charm.
Thirst curse.
Bye bye, Beau.
Were you one of his familiars?
I actually like the reapers entrance and music.
I am certainly experiencing it a lot with Buffy.
"Consider yourself lucky that he didn't turn you."
Wow, it's daylight out.
I just realized that she didn't have a run in with the police for being out after curfew.
Strange, perhaps the jet back helped, or I sent her out much later than I thought.
Edna Mode is nearing the end of her makeover of Bridgeport. There are a few sims of interest. They may make an appearance at the town's dance club.
This guy looks like he should be a bouncer at Plasma 501
Morrigan Hemlock is here, grieving for Wogan.
She needs something to help with her grief.
How about a makeover?
She's probably having an identity crisis now.
Her work here is done, and it's probably a good idea to put some space between Buffy and Morrigan.
Buffy is becoming a sort of monster herself with all these vampire slayings.
Jessica Talon
You would think Vampires would be creatures of the night, lurking about and sucking the blood out of the populace. A vampire hunter could feel justified in their efforts to eradicate them after catching them in the act.
Nope, we have to track them down like the shut-ins they are.
By the way, I don't hate vampires. This is just one of many game scenarios that I created to play out.
I have another where I play vampires who build their covens and live happily among their food source.
We are paying Jessica Talon a visit today.
Aww, she looks so happy in there playing the drums.
It's really considerate that she has a room for it, so she doesn't disturb the neighbors.
But Jessica does have the evil trait.
We are going to see if we can do something about that.
♩ ♬ [Elevator music] ♪ ♫
Evil vampires are pretty much toast as far as Buffy is concerned, but we are going to give Jessica Talon a fair chance of living on.
One bottle of personality adjuster is being served.
And a quick check of her traits with the master controller shows she is no longer evil.
Congratulations, Jessica.
You get the cure instead of death.
Great!
She's happy to be cured.
Look at that smile.
If you are familiar with Jessica Talon, you know this one looks nothing like EA's very creepy original.
Mine is downright cute in comparison.
That turned out well.
I like Jessica Talon, even with the evil trait.
Well, my version at least.
Loved the developments with Wogan and that sims actually can kill! (your sims and pictures look amazing as ever and I so enjoy and get inspired by your creativity in the game)
Maybe a tip concerning the curfew: you could turn her into a rebel (it would suit her too). Rebel teens aren't bothered by the police, or in any case less.
ETA: I very much liked the curing instead of slaying too though. It's always nice for a slayer to have different options
Elvira Slayer
Just a reminder, I am still just setting up Bridgeport, playing as I go about making it over.
The city is complete. I've made over a nice amount of sims. Ridding it of vampires is the last step.
I still have a version with Vampires, so I can still have a made-over town with supernaturals in it if I want.
Or I could just turn on Vampires in the settings.
Elvira chose to meet Buffy in the lobby instead of inviting her up.
I believe there is a good reason for that.
That's interesting.
They have bravery in common.
Okay, I say we give Elvira a chance.
We will get rid of that Evil trait.
Hmmm... I don't think she has changed.
Nope!
Okay, last chance.
This is Buffy's last bottle of Personality Adjuster.
Bridgeport Complete
I was getting excited to play a new sim in my made over Bridgeport.
It was time to wrap things up.
I wanted to get my hands on Lola Bell.
I only tweaked her outfit. It was her face that made me want to get out the surgeons knife.
She was just a little to cartoonish for me.
Speaking of faces, I never really showed a close up of Edna.
I like her being a mysterious figure. Those glasses help.
It was perfect that Matty Crewe happened to be at the bowling alley.
It kind of fits with his style.
It was here that I decided he would be the first sim I play in a copy of this Bridgeport.
Another sim of interest appeared at the Simfu Academy.
I didn't do much to Jun Xu, other than add more day-glo outfits to her wardrobe.
Well... she's going to get a slight chest reduction.
I like those strappy shoes.
It's a pity that those who weren't interested in Fast Lane will never get to use them for their sims.
I still had to establish Edna in that large house across the bay.
Things needed to be sped up here because I was ready to get on to playing seriously.
She had enough points to get a genie's lamp.
Two wishes for wealth and it was moving day.
I think I will have that house as a goal for Matty Crewe.
It has a Mid-century Modern interior.
"Sheesh! More modern."
And that's the way Edna likes it.
The grey area used to be a sunken living room, but the lighting was weird in that area and sims always walked around it instead of through it.
It's a little too white in here.
That's better.
Now off to bed with you.
Now that that they are established and Bridgeport has been cleansed, I can let Buffy grow up.
I have no idea what she could be wishing for.
Vampire slaying has been her focus all this time.
Wishing for more vampires?
No surprises here.
Yeah, you look pretty much the same.
Her body finally caught up with her head though.
And that's it.
My Bridgeport master save is complete.
What? Hold on a minute here.
Vladimir Schlick!
You slick dog, going to ground and escaping Buffy's radar. She got her wish.
I didn't see him around and forgot about him. I didn't discover him until I started up a game with Matty Crewe.
Well we will take care of this right now, and no, no second chances for cunning vampires.
Though I would most likely play him if I were to play a vampire in the game.
But this is a different scenario.
Buffy lost her soft touch she had as a teen.
No vampire is safe now.
Now Bridgeport is clean...
Except for that little Belisama Hemlock problem that will pop up in the future.
The Life of Matty Crewe
I was enjoying Buffy and Edna mode, but they were mainly helpers in shaping my Master Save of Bridgeport.
Edna's makeover of Matty Crewe made him interesting and I wanted to play him.
I started a copy of my master save and began playing his life.
This is my first actual game in my new Bridgeport.
Matty is starting out in this very simple starter home.
It's better than an empty lot.
Music is his hobby.
It would be cool for him to have a band, but he might be too busy inventing and learning how to make plumbots.
I sent him to visit his neighbors.
Kirby Wise seems like she would be a fun sim to know.
She seems ambitious, but I slipped in the Unstable trait on her.
Katelyn Missoni.
So cute, she could be girlfriend material, but perhaps a bit glamorous for Matty.
He just needed to get in some introductions.
He has work to do before work.
He didn't get far before he heard someone playing the drums.
Suzy Strummer.
She should be playing guitar with a name like that.
Matty can't resist a jam session.
He also plays keyboards.
Oh, time for work. Career outfit.
He has a part-time job at the bookstore.
I will let him keep it until he has more inventing and plumbot making skills.
There was nothing else to do but watch the paparazzi girl, Victoria, perform magic tricks.
Must be her true calling, but apparently this guy doesn't appreciate her art.
Well I do, and since I have her in a back up save, I will probably play her as a magician eventually.
I still love her grumpiness:
Ok, do it again, maybe he will gain some insight into the art of prestidigitation.
TA DA!
He still isn't in awe of her ability.
Hey! what's your name? Purple and orange...
Edna Mode and I somehow missed her for a fashion makeover and plastic surgery. We will get her later.
Matty gets off of work, but he's not riding his bike back home.
Someone else has designs on it.
No burglar alarm out here.
It might as well have his name on it.
You scoundrel!
Matty is living on a shoestring and you're taking his primary means of transportation.
Rockabilly Inventor
I deleted the diner in my Bridgeport.
I have Scrumptious Nibbles cafe inland and don't need the diner way out here.
It seems like the best place for the Ambitions junkyard.
Matty needs scrap for his inventions.
Bridgeport is suffering from a nanite infestation. I put spawners in a couple of locations since time travel is not part of this scenario.
So Matty is a gear head suddenly turned on to high technology:
Also kind of turned on to Kirby Wise.
With access to the Science Lab's Robotics Lab, Matty is diving deep into plumbot technolgy.
He's making nanites, processors, and trait chips.
And now he has made his first plumbot.
It is a bit lonely here, and it would be nice to have a roommate even if it is a machine.
It's very handy too.
But Matty needs money, so he has to say goodbye to his little friend.
He will also sell components to the shop.
This is Matty's other source for ITF content.
Uknown to most of Bridgeport, there is a reason for this leap in technology.
ALIENS!
At this point, I became fully absorbed into Skyrim and it set me on a long TS3 break.
I still had a bunch of pictures from The Life of Matty Crewe. I just have to sort through and remember what was going on at the time.
It has been a long time since I have posted.
I haven't stopped playing The Sims 3.
Actually I have a lot going on.
I have a game going with Matty Crewe and his significant other, Cairo playing as a private investigator, and now I have a whole new town going.
I have downloaded and installed Rflong7's custom world, Our Beach City. It's huge and it was completely empty before I started.
The town is nicely divided up in sections.
This area is my dirt poor starter home district. The movie studio and criminal career rabbit holes are also here:
There are some abandoned properties and the junk yard is back here too.
The 🐸🐸🐸🐸 wagon is setup behind that dilapidated Victorian house.
My teens will hangout here and graffiti up the place.
I need to make this place bigger.
It's a small junkyard on a larger lot.
I think Grimm lost something.
I always used this house as a starter home in Sunset Valley.
Now I have four of them here.
There is a boardwalk west of downtown.
I have my casino here already. I need to figure out what I am going to do for an entertainment area here. Inland, I have a Bistro rabbit-hole, resort, future technology shopping mall, salon, plumbot shop, a lounge, and dance club. So yeah, entertainment and shopping.
This world seems to be very friendly with Island Paradise. There are several dive lots, houseboat docks, and beaches.
I will probably play out my Ocean Sciences scenario again on the good ship Salecia.
I have about 5 apartment skyscrapers, but I will not use them. I prefer my custom apartment buildings.
These are just for looks and immersion.
I'm adding little spaces to add a little more interest.
Way out in the boonies are perfect locations and surroundings for a few farms and horse ranches.
Way over here is a military base.
I added my science rabbit hole with its complimentary interactive science building.
This town is getting all my favorite homes and community lots.
This is the first time I have been able to place so many of my mansion in the same area.
Ravenloft Castle remains isolated though.
Now all I need to do is put in Sims.
Cairo and Melonie are the first arrivals.
I will be adding sims who have been in the sim bin since forever, and also favorite sims from the various worlds.
This place feels like my ultimate simming experience.
There are so many ways to play it.
I sitting here looking at world picture thinking of all I plan to do with it.
I like my thoughts.
I was worried about lag since it is so big, but my initial play sessions don't seem to be any worse than Bridgeport, but this town doesn't have a lot of sims yet. I am going to have to go in and check all my lots. I rotated a lot of lots and moved them around for better placement. This resulted in MEGA SPAWNERS.
I deleted the duplicates and had the sims I were playing collect most of the butterflies.
I did have some strange lag in the center of town for a bit. I believe this was the reason.
This has come a little earlier that I thought it would, but I am ready to replace my still wonderful PC.
But alas, the Turn of The Century called.
It wants its case back.
Any of you zooming in to see what books I have, that's my writer's book shelf.
I have a dream to write a fantasy novel and that book on 5000 spells is for research.
Sorry, I am not a wizard.
It started when I saw this new PC case that was about to be launched from Cooler Master.
And all kinds of technologies and games are coming out this year and next year that I want to try.
I put off jumping into virtual reality right away, but I think I will be doing that before the year is over.
It's time for a new PC.
Spent all day shopping and spent a looooot of money.
I was committed to building this PC now. I didn't expect the world wide shortage of i7 8700k CPUs, so I settled for a 7700k.
It's probably for the best, it should be nice a stable by now.
The Sims 3 will be my first priority after getting my new computer set up.
The only thing I need now is the case, which I had to order online.
The reviews were out for this new case and opinions not very positive.
The front and top covers are very plastic and not connected to the case in a satisfactory way.
It's a bit style over substance.
Some love it... https://youtu.be/IFoHUo6r6bA
He has good points, but I am going to be shallow on this one,
because I really like the way it looks.
Ta dah!
My PC case arrived Friday, just in time for a weekend computer build.
Ooooh!
I doubt the style will hold up over time, but for now, I like it.
Geez, look at those ginormous fans!
It does seem counter productive to have them behind that plastic cover, but my CPU and my graphics card are liquid cooled and the radiators will be to the rear and up top, so most of the heat will be quickly vented out the case. I don't think overheating will be an issue.
I thought I would have all the hardware set up by midday and end the day with windows 10 installed and setting up all my drives.
NOPE.
It all seemed simple while I was looking over the motherboard.
Until I reached this stage and found the motherboard has only one USB 2.0 header and I had several components that wanted that header.
I had to drive to the other side of town to get an internal USB Hub.
Now the long process of getting TS3 on the new computer begins.
I am up to Late Night at the moment.
Another reason why I am building a new computer is that I was having a hard time getting Windows 10 to upgrade my old computer.
I gave up on it because I really did like windows 8.1.
I love those tiles. But now I love windows 10 because with a little tweak, it looks like 8.1.
Plus I have the start menu.
It's a nice blending of the two features.
TS3 is completely installed!
I just took my Sims 3 folder and plopped it into my new computer's EA folder.
I haven't played it extensively, so there still could be issues, but my store content is there.
I dropped in on Matty.
He had a lot of nanites in his backyard.
I think that's a perk for advancing his ITF skills.
Load times are twice as fast as my old computer.
All the EPs and most of the SPs ( I don't Katy Perry or 70s 80s 90s stuff), tons of store content and custom content with a huge town and edited sims loads within 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Now I can get on with bringing over all my other programs and files.
It's nice having my other computer functional while I do this. I usually cannibalize the old computer of parts for the new one. I hated being without a computer while I built the new one.
I do have another Matty Crewe update to post from my old PC.
I won't be playing him much until I transfers all my programs and files to the new PC.
And... uh... play one more playthrough of Skyrim on my old PC.
I will not be installing the Original version of Skyrim on my new computer.
I will install the Special Edition and start over with modding it.
I really want to play through the original version on my current PC with my ton of mods on it.
The problem is that I have been away so long from the game that I kind of lost track of what I had done and what I had planned to do.
So I am starting Skyrim over from my earliest save where I had first finished installing all my mods.
That would be this point here.
So it's off to White Run and a new beginning.
I did have an awesome time playing before and experiencing the add on DLC for the first time.
I had better play through it one final time because I may give my current computer to a relative, or friend, if my new computer plays nice with The Sims 3.
Hi, @CK213 - been a long time since I've been here. That case looks awesome! I'm thinking about getting a new case, even if I don't need it. Those fans are awesome! I don't need a liquid cooled graphics card or case since I only play sims 3 and 4 with a side of some minor low-level games, too. I tried Skyrim but it made me sick. Motion sickness is a plum. I wish I could handle it. It looks so amazing!
@CK213 - 5000 spells and you're NOT a wizard?! I don't think you're trying hard enough!
The New PC looks great! Here's hoping TS3 in all its glory will 'accept' the new system. You have a very 'clean' system set-up (motherboard-wise). Sorry about the single 2.0 port, but since were in the day of 3.0 its not really too surprising.
Also, sounds like you're going all out with Skyrim. Drem Yol Lok, Dovahkiin.
Enjoy the new PC! It looks great. Do you know about the Windows 10 Creators Update? It adds a "Game Mode" which is aimed at low-end desktops and laptops. The purpose is to give priority to the game. It can improve frame rate and performance but it does the opposite for high-end desktops and laptops. You may want to disable it. It's caused some Sims 3 players grief already like v-sync refusing to work if game mode is on plus a few other problems. I'll quote DustyBoots steps on how to turn it off.
*This Creator Update can override custom graphics settings. The absolute most important one to check is your in-game FPS. TS3 has no native fps limiter so everyone should see to this regardless of the Update. Too high an FPS and your graphics card suffers a lot of unnecessary wear & tear.
Thank you Igazor , I could fix one of the problem, it rest just one problem. When I leave the game the page origin is little and I everytime have to enlarge. It's just annoying me but it's not a big problem. Again thank's.
It sounds like it could be some effect of Microsoft's extensive & ongoing changes in DPI Scaling API handling. They continue to improve it but not all of the changes are working well out of the box. Make sure to set yours to 100% after you disable the new Creator Game Mode effects. I use Option # 1:

I forgot some pictures of it nearly finished. All this was copy and pasted from the TS3 General Discussion forum.
It does look clean from this side, but the back is a horror of cables. If I had it to do over again I would have routed and twist-tied the cables as I added them. I am glad it's all hidden on the other side. I just hope I never have to go back there in order to add or fix anything.
Amazing!
All my hardware components are installed and I didn't kill it in the process.
However, there were some moments where I felt like I was dealing with a time bomb.
This is my third computer build and each time there is something new.
The last time it was liquid cooling and radiators. This time it's M.2 NVME SSDs. Those black rectangles with the silver buttons.
And also a liquid cooled graphics card.
I have installed the Sims 3 Base game and it loads Sims 4 quick with the SSDs, but that's just the base game.
I will see how fast it is when I have everything installed.
I might as well make use of all those stickers that came with my parts.
This RGB lighting fad resulted in a lot cabling for power and light control on the fans.
This thing has six fans and I can control the color and several sequence patterns.

I'll have her brew up some options.
Maybe a tip concerning the curfew: you could turn her into a rebel (it would suit her too). Rebel teens aren't bothered by the police, or in any case less.
ETA: I very much liked the curing instead of slaying too though. It's always nice for a slayer to have different options
Wow.
She can't be turned from the dark side.
Well then...
Slayer VS. The Slayer.
Thirst!
Sunlight!
Yeah, but you gave her two chances.
Ring-a-ring-a-roses,
A pocket full of posies;
Ashes! Ashes!
They all fall down.
Oh, that music is so sinister.
https://youtu.be/Q3o9xmcgriA
Grim should consider a partnership with Buffy.
Or make her an honorary reaper.
Elvira makes her pleads for more life.
Wow, Grim swatted her out of there so fast my finger couldn't even twitch toward the pause button.
Gah!
Will you stop slurping down all the honey!
You need it for elixirs.
You have about a dozen apples in your inventory from all that apple conjuring.
Eat those!
She might as well go home now.
And leave Grim to whatever he's going to do in Elvira's apartment.
See my Sims 3 studio for latest progress.
Next day, still angry about that.
Somehow I forgot to post my wrap up of Edna's Bridgeport before moving on to Matty.
The post...
Bridgeport Complete
Is above.
Cha cha changes!
And some really hate it...
https://youtu.be/HRsb4C5gLLc
What kind of graphics card do you have?

The New PC looks great! Here's hoping TS3 in all its glory will 'accept' the new system. You have a very 'clean' system set-up (motherboard-wise). Sorry about the single 2.0 port, but since were in the day of 3.0 its not really too surprising.
Also, sounds like you're going all out with Skyrim. Drem Yol Lok, Dovahkiin.

This RGB lighting fad resulted in a lot cabling for power and light control on the fans.
This thing has six fans and I can control the color and several sequence patterns.
